What is The Expedition?
The Minnesota Shubert Center is giving you a chance to explore a new world by creating a project inspired by the journey of Close to Silence. It will bring both artists and production team directly to you through the use of web-conversational outlets, such as forums and chat rooms, thus giving you a rare chance to work one-on-one with those involved with the production.
Chat Room
Periodically throughout the program, members of the Close to Silence team will be available for online chat sessions. We will announce upcoming chat sessions one week prior to it taking place on the Chat Room page.
Forum
Here is the place to access the minds of those involved in the process and to share your own experiences related to this production. Teachers can also chat with each other in the Teachers Lounge and share your experiences in integrating the material into your classes.
Events
Throughout Universal Language, we will announce events both hosted by the Minnesota Shubert Center and Minnesota Dance Theatre, as well as events outside of the participating organizations. Check this page often as announcements will be added frequently!
Projects
Below is a list of projects from which you may choose or you have the option of developing your own. You will observe and analyze what you see through the Journey, share your discoveries with others and relate it to your project. Completed projects will be rewarded by being on display opening night of Close to Silence on June 1st at the Southern Theater. Additionally, there will be announcements of contests from organizations outside of the Minnesota Shubert Center in which you may enter your project as well!
