Follow the Process

When the curtain rises on the first live performance May 4th, The Enchantment becomes a ballet for the first time. To make this happen, artistic director Lise Houlton needs to articulate her vision to the many designers and dancers that will have an effect on the production.

This includes working with set and costume designers to visually represent the story, developing a score with the composer whose live music will impact every step of the performance, and instructing the dancers at rehearsals to expressively tell the story.

Beginning April 10th, Lise and her team will lead you through this exciting process with written journals, video clips and images on a different topic each week. Combined with features in the Behind the Curtain section, this journey will share with you all aspects of creating a full-length ballet. These topics include:

April 10-14: An Introduction, Meet the Dancers
April 17-21: Storyboard Process, Choreography and Musical Score
April 24-28: Set and Costume Design
May 1-5: Production Week, How It All Comes Together

We will continue to update this section before April 10. Sign up for our email list to be alerted when updates and changes are made.
