Dance involves students in new worlds of knowledge, creativity and self-expression. The Enchantment is a portal for students to enter those worlds and see what it really takes to make a full-length story ballet.
These classroom activities help make the artistic process visible. As the ballet takes shape, students discover what good choreographers, designers and composers do to make quality work. Students think deeply about what they see, and practice using dance elements, vocabulary and concepts. Students have opportunities to ask questions of the dancers, and may even vote on some choices that the choreographer is considering.
